Reports from the Hebrew-language cybersecurity channel ‘חדשות סייבר - ארז דסה’ indicate that Israel recently targeted and neutralized a significant Iranian Artificial Intelligence facility located within Sharif University in Tehran. This strike reportedly hit a central data center that underpinned Iran’s national AI platform, crucial for developing various capabilities, including offensive cyber operations.

Sharif University has long been a breeding ground for talent for the Iranian regime, with graduates often recruited into cyber units of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the Ministry of Intelligence. The university itself has previously faced international sanctions from entities like the U.S. and the EU due to its documented military, technological, and cyber collaborations with the regime.
